A native Austinite and a partner at Medical Park Orthopedic Clinic since 1979, Malone V. Hill, Jr., M.D. is a general orthopedist with special interests in joint replacement, arthroscopy, and fractures.
Dr. Hill received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, earning his medical degree from the U.T. Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his residency in Galveston at the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals. He later served as a lecturer and research fellow at The London Hospital and Medical College in England under pioneer joint-replacement surgeon Dr. M.A.R. Freeman.
He began his medical career with his general internship in Phoenix, Arizona and later served at Castle Air Force Base in California as a Flight Medical Officer, Chief of Public Health, and Chief of Aerospace Medicine. He returned to Austin to serve at Bergstrom Air Force Base as a Flight Surgeon and Chief of Public Health. Dr. Hill has served as Chief of Orthopaedics at Seton Medical Center where he was also Chairman of the Committee on Medical Quality Improvement.
As past president of Medical Park Orthopaedic Clinic and Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Hill remains active in numerous professional organizations. They include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Orthopaedic Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.
